TRAIN YOUR MIND

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 12:2

Your mind needs to be educated in the things of the spirit. For example, when you go to school to study any particular course, your mind is being educated in the things of this world. Your mind is informed!

In the natural, the education of your mind is not instant; it takes time. In the same vein, training your mind in the things of the spirit takes time. It is a life-long process we have to be committed to.

Paul’s instruction to the Romans gives us a clue on how to effect changes in our lives: “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is” (Romans 12:2NLT).

Changing the way you think is the key to transformation. Your thoughts need to be in sync with God’s thoughts for you to function at the centre of His will for your life and experience the life He has prearranged for you. A wise man once said, “Your life goes in the direction of your dominant thoughts”.

God’s thoughts are expressed in His written words. When you give yourself completely to the word through studying and practising, your mind becomes well tutored in the things of God, and the transformation you most desire will happen without any hassle.

As we re-educate our minds through God’s word, we will have an expression of who we truly are. This is how God has ordained change to happen in our lives; it will be from the inside out, not from the outside in.

The change is meant to occur in your mind first, as your mind is being illuminated by the word through the Spirit. Your part is to keep looking!

James says, “But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed” (James 1:25).

As you look, the word will enlighten your mind and bring about a glorious transformation in your life.

Prayer
My mind is trained in the things of the Spirit as I focus on the Word. Therefore, I make consistent progress in life.
