SIGNS THAT ACCOMPANY BELIEVERS

SIGNS THAT ACCOMPANY BELIEVERS

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover
Mark 16:17-18

Our Lord Jesus, shortly before His ascension, itemised signs that would accompany believers. These signs include expelling demons, speaking in new tongues, and healing the sick, amongst others. In a way, the church (the body of Christ) is prolonging the days of Jesus on earth. While the Master was walking the streets of Jerusalem, all these signs accompanied Him.

Matthew wrote, “And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people” (Matthew 9:35).

Now, through the indwelling of the Spirit, the works of Christ are wrought by believers.

Jesus healed the sick and cast out demons during His earthly ministry: “And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever. And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them. When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick” (Matthew 8:14-16).

The power behind the signs and great miracles displayed by Jesus has been given to believers. The same Spirit that wrought miracles through Jesus has taken His abode in believers, and He is doing the same in us today. Philip was a typical example: “Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed” (Acts 8:5-7)

It is crucial for every believer to become vitally involved in the things of the Spirit. You must take the vision of the Father seriously. And this vision is for all men to be saved “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:4).

You must take the preaching of the gospel seriously. The apostle Paul says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek” (Romans 1:16).

When you do the word by preaching the gospel, you will effortlessly walk in the supernatural: “And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen” (Mark 16:20)

Confession
I’m accompanied by signs, wonders, and miracles; I cast out demons, heal the sick, and raise the dead. As I preach the word, the Lord validates the Message with indisputable evidence. Amen!
