The only way to overcome perception deception is to grow in your knowledge about what you have in Christ Jesus.
Knowledge is very important to the believer, that is, to know what God did through Jesus Christ, to see it as a gift freely given, and to realize that all we did at salvation was to receive what He has done.
The believer thus has a responsibility to find out the realities in him in Christ, putting them to mind and growing in knowledge of the same.
Philemon 1:6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
Here, Paul in praying for Philemon also referred to having a precise and accurate understanding of every good thing in him in Christ Jesus.
