HIS NAME SAVES AND PROTECTS!

HIS NAME SAVES AND PROTECTS!

The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe
Proverbs 18:10

The name of the Lord is awesome and great. That name provides salvation and safety.

Prophet Jeremiah says, “In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS” (Jeremiah 23:6).

Salvation and safety are the hallmarks of the name of Jesus. The fulfilment of this prophecy is found in Christ. It does mean that Jesus is the name of the Lord.

Isaiah prophesied, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).

When that child was born, He was named Jesus (A name given before He was born):

“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21).

The name revealed His work or task. Jesus came to save His people from their sins. Jesus brought salvation. This salvation is deliverance from sins.Salvation is found in the name of Jesus:

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

The name of the Lord saves! The Father is the Lord (Psalm 118:27), the Son is the Lord (Romans 10:9), and the Holy Spirit is the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:17).

The word “name” implies accomplishment, conquest, status, and authority.

Therefore, when we talk about the name of Jesus, we are not referring to the mention of that name but the accomplishment and the authority.

The name of the Lord is so mighty that it gives safety: “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe” (Proverbs 18:10).

Those who run into that name are made righteous; thus, they are referred to as the righteous. You run into the name of the Lord by believing and confessing the Lordship of Jesus.

In Romans 10:13, the apostle Paul said, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”.

The name of the Lord is a place of protection; anyone who runs into it by calling upon that name is saved and safe. As a child of God, you are in the name of the Lord; therefore, you are saved and safe. The name of the Lord has given you salvation and safety. In salvation, you were not only delivered from danger but also brought into safety. You are called by the name of the Lord; salvation and safety are now yours eternally. Glory to God!

Confession
I am saved and kept safe by the name of the Lord. I have run into the place of protection; I’m eternally secured in Christ. Halleluyah!
