They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness
Lamentations 3:23.
One of the incredible attributes of God is His faithfulness.
Our God is trustworthy, reliable, and dependable. He always does what He says, and because He is a good God, we can always rely on Him to make His word good in our lives.
Jeremiah said the compassions of our God are new every morning and that His faithfulness is great. The question is: how great is our God’s faithfulness?
The truth is that the greatness of God’s faithfulness is beyond what words can describe.
Apostle Paul, in his second epistle to Timothy, says, “If we believe not, yet He abideth faithful: He cannot deny Himself” (2 Timothy 2:13).
The emphasis of the scripture above is on the faithfulness of God. It is about God’s ability and willingness to do what He says: God cannot deny Himself.
In other words, He will not fail to do what He has already said.
In Mark 13:31, our Lord Jesus said, “Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away”. God is faithful altogether. That songwriter says: “Great is thy faithfulness, Great is thy faithfulness, Morning by morning, new mercies I see, All that I needed thy hands have provided, Great is thy faithfulness, God unto me”
Our God is faithful!
Let this sink into you because that awareness will cause you to walk in the miraculous all your days on earth.
Sarah judged (considered) God faithful, and she received the strength to conceive a child at age ninety (90) (Hebrews 11:11).
Just know for yourself that God’s faithfulness is unfailing and very great.
Moreover, salvation and all its attending benefits are made possible because God is faithful.
The resurrection of Jesus from the dead, which is the bedrock upon which the Christian faith is founded, was a demonstration of God’s faithfulness.
God gave it as a promise to people under the Old Covenant, and He fulfilled the same: “And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers, God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee” (Acts 13:32-33).
Therefore, to believe that God raised Jesus from the dead is to believe in God’s faithfulness.
In essence, our faith in God’s faithfulness granted us salvation.
Confession
Dear Father, I judge you faithful because you are faithful. Your faithfulness has brought me thus far, and I’m grateful.
