Use Your Words

Friday’s Bible Study (Feb 2, 2024) we reviewed what it means to have a Believer’s Identity. If I had to sum up the meeting in two bullet points, which I am going to do regardless, the first would be that a Beleiver’s Identity is the Spirit of God. The second would be that as believers, if we want to move our mountains, we have to use our words. We cannot move our mountains by thought alone. Which tied in nicely with the series we started on Sunday entitled “Why We Pray”

In the new series we discussed how prayer enables the supernatural, and that those things you desire to change will not happen automatically, you must pray. It is through prayer that we make power available. Through prayer we supply the ability of the spirit – in other words, if you don’t spend time in prayer, you are not making use of the power that is available to you. And this is where I see the tie in: you must use your words when praying, thinking changes nothing. The universe responds to the spoken word. Yes, God knows what you are thinking, but those thoughts are not realized and power is not made available, until those thoughts are spoken aloud.

I am looking forward to our discussions on Friday and Sunday and I pray you will join us. We will be discussing, among other things, Ephesians 6:18 and why a believer should pray in the Spirit. I hope to see you there.

Ephesians 6:18 (KJV)
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
