GROW INTO MATURITY (Part 3)
Paul, in his epistle to the church at Rome, reveals that discerning the will of the Father is a resultant effect of spiritual growth:
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:2).
Paul’s prayer for the church at Philippi was for insight, to the end that they might be able to discern things that matter (what God wants) and be fruitful in what God had called them to do: “And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God” (Philippians 1:9-11)
The word of God is what will bring about the growth you desire. Apostle Peter, in his epistle, says, “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word that ye may grow thereby” (1 Peter 2:2).
It is when you consistently learn the word that you will grow. The word is the food that you need for your spiritual nourishment.
Also, Paul, the Apostle, said to the elders of the church at Ephesus,
“And now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified” (Acts 20:32).
